PRP Treatment
What does PRP Stand for?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich-Plasma Therapy
What is PRP and what is it used for?
PRP for hair loss is a non-surgical, safe and effective hair regrowth treatment that uses the patient's own blood plasma to stimulate hair growth. Whether you suffer from hair loss from menopause, post-natal symptoms or male pattern baldness, PRP therapy can help restore your hair to a healthier, fuller state.
A Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) face treatment, also known as a Vampire facial, is an advanced skin treatment which is great for skin rejuvenation. It's a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion and skin texture.

How is PRP carried out?
PRP is 3-step procedure that involves having your blood:
- Drawn from your arm.
- Placed into a machine that separates the platelets from the rest of your blood.
- Re-injected into you (only the part of your blood that contains a high concentration of platelets).
How effective is PRP?
Studies show that the increased concentration of growth factors in platelet-rich plasma may stimulate or speed up the healing process, shortening healing time for injuries, decreasing pain and even encouraging hair growth. In fact, many global studies prove that PRP therapy is considered one of the most successful non-surgical hair loss treatment methods, with a success rate of 80-92 per cent in India. This is because the procedure is typically very safe and effective.

What is Plasma and what does it do?
Plasma is the liquid component of your blood that contributes to 55% of your blood's total volume. Plasma is necessary to help your body recover from injury, distribute nutrients, remove waste and prevent infection, while moving throughout your circulatory system.

Who is not a good candidate for PRP?
We may not inject PRP if you have cancer, an active infection, unstable angina, or a blood disorder such as anaemia or severe hypovolemia (low blood volume). To be a good candidate, you must also have normal platelet function, which means that platelet disorders disqualify you from getting PRP treatments.
All consent and medical forms are sent out prior to treatment. These must be completed before attending clinic to ensure you are well and suitable for these treatments.
